Near Marseille, driving to a place that the inhabitants of Marseille call " the end of the world ", we discover typical intact landscapes .

After the Corniche Kennedy and its beaches over frequented, succeed tiny sandbanks snuggled up in the hollows of rocks before appear, at foot of the massif of Marseilleveyre, the creeks of the South of Marseille : samena, Mauvais pas, l'Escalette, Les goudes up to the famous creek of Callelongue, terminus of the littoral road.

The islands of Riou, Caisereigne, Tiboulen, Maïre, facing creeks, fades one after the other in the horizon, strengthening this impression that beyond, nothing more exists.

The road penetrates, at first, inside the massif of Marseilleveyre between the mountain Rose and the plateau of Escalette.

• The first creek is Saména, narrow, short and small sandy beach,
• Escalette comes then, which preserves important industrial ruins.
• Then, the road follows the coast until Les Goudes, fishermen's small village, today pleasure port. ·
• We discover then the island Maïre, separated from the cap Croisette by a strait.
• It makes escort the small island of Tiboulen. Magnificent panorama, one of the most beautiful of the coast : contrasts of the colours, picturesque of the cliff limestone ripped by the erosion, raising itself in abrupt cliffs over the sea.
• In the wide, the island of Planier, on which was built a lighthouse which guides vessels in their approach to the port of Marseille.
• Finally it is Callelongue, a narrow and short creek in the outlet of a valley where the road ends. Callelongue is a hamlet constituted by cabanons (small fishmen's houses).
